Coping with blindness and vision loss.

Every Friday morning, 10 AM to 12 PM, in person at EBCB or on Zoom.

Purpose:

The EBCB support group offers a safe space to be with others that are both new to blindness and have long-time experience.  In each group meeting you can:

  • Adjust your attitude, emotions,  and feelings about yourself and your blindness to better cope with the transition from visual to non-visual living.
  • Learn to advocate for yourself with friends and family.
  • Receive support from others in the group during times of depression and mourning of vision loss.
  • Learn what you can do to gain new skills to function in your daily life with confidence.
  • Hear others share suggestions and personal life experiences and challenging changes that have occurred.
  • Feel free to ask questions.

To get an invitation to join on Zoom, call the East Bay Center for the Blind at (510) 843-6935, or send an email to info@eastbaycenterfortheblind.org.

You can also attend the group in person at:

2928 Adeline Street
