In 1997 the Center began acquiring the necessary assistive technology and equipment to fully furnish a four station computer lab with internet access for the blind and visually impaired. During that time Board and staff members donated countless hours toward its development and design including individual and group instruction.
We currently provide quality individualized computer instruction to blind and visually impaired clients free of charge. Our computer training is self-paced and without time restrictions. This enables those who may not qualify for programs with more stringent requirements the opportunity to develop computer skills and to improve self-esteem.
Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to: JFW, Wineyes, ZoomText, Windows Operating System, OpenBook, Kurzweil, MicroSoft Word, E-mail, and Internet Explorer.
